The Scenic Drive

Patratu Valley

The road becomes part of the outing here: a succession of bends through green hills, with wide views across the valley. Jharkhand Tourism highlights both the landscape and the journey through it.

Water And Stone

Hundru Falls

The Subarnarekha River drops through a dramatic rocky landscape at Hundru. Make the falls the focus of an outing, with time to take in the changing shapes of rock and water.

A Taste Of Jharkhand

Ajam Emba

A Place For Food A Place For Stories

Ajam Emba is a Ranchi food initiative founded by Aruna Tirkey to bring Adivasi food traditions into wider view. Slow Food documents its restaurant and training work, as well as the Slow Food Ajam Emba Community’s work with Indigenous food knowledge and millets. It is a place to begin exploring the food culture of Jharkhand.

Confirm the current venue, opening hours and menu before visiting.

Leave Room To Linger

Check current access, weather and transport before setting out. For the waterfalls, check the walking route and steps for everyone in your group, and follow signs and staff guidance at the site. The photographs show the places on earlier visits; water levels and conditions change.
